Encountering Resistance – Day 3

The topic for today is “Vision”

The exercise was to create a vision board to be a reminder of the goals you have in your life. You can also use it as a tracking method to look back on your goals as you achieve them.

I created a vision board back in July of this year and set it as the lock screen on my laptop. I look at it every now and then and I do use it to inform my actions. Sometimes it is really easy to feel like I’m not making any progress. Sometimes my own actions don’t really lead to progress, but rather than get stuck in a negative spiral, I’m choosing to see the positive.

The Execution: Dirty confession = I slept in until about 10:45AM. I had been out the evening before and enjoyed a glass of wine and catch up with one of my best friends from high school and didn’t get home until about 2AM.  Got up, took a shower, went to sushi with a friend with my best girlfriend in the world. I went to LLBean to help her choose a new pair of hiking boots, then she came with me to Sketchers to pick out a new pair of walking shoes. I spent $19.50.

Came home, took a nap, and hung out with my mom. And now I’m sitting down to do a wrap up.

I did not make any significant progress on any of my goals BUT after looking at it closer, I realize that I have made progress on the topic of strengthening relationships with the people closest to me, and by tidying up my space before I go to bed.

These are my three main goals:

  • Financial Means
  • Clean, organized space
  • Healthy physical expression

All of my goals feed into these three keystone goals.
