Theme of the Day = How to improve your “Bounce Back Rate”
A “bounce back rate” is your ability to “bounce back” from setbacks or challenging events. Also known as your resiliency.
Here are three key points to improve your Bounce Back Rate
- Be laser focused on your goals.
- Find a sounding board or buddy to talk it out
- Sweat or stretch daily
Execution: In my experience, my resilience grows the clearer I become about my goals. For example, I’ve had a few days of poor eating choices. (I’m talking cookies with cookie butter, days of pizza, huge portions in general, and bags of tortilla chips eaten around 11PM at night). This was a setback caused by my own poor choices, however I know that my overall goal is a lean, focused, healthy, slim body. I know that I can overcome this temporary setback and get myself back to healthy choices simply by remembering my overall goal. It’s not easy, but it is simple. Some setbacks hurt more than others, but I like the idea of calling this resilience my “bounce back rate” because it makes me think of rubber balls. Setbacks will come. The trick is to use the resistance to bounce even higher.
Personal Notes: Exhausted from the late night last night, but feeling very accomplished. Did not get too far with my to-do list, but I do feel a bit more physically present. I did a Tracy Anderson Intermediate Mat Class and walked outside for 30 minutes.
Closing out the day on a positive note.
Let’s keep doing this!
