“Go HARD in the paint!”
This is the feeling: It’s a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot. I was colder than I’d ever been in my life. This is a 5 mile race, not just a 5k and at first It’s the last 10 meters of the race and I can see the finish line in sight. I get to decide: do I push past my tired legs, freezing fingers and numb legs to give it all I have and sprint the last 10 meters … or do I walk it in and be happy just to have finished the race?
GO THE LAST MILE! FINISH THE RACE BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE!
That’s the choice I made.
The narrative I’ve decided about myself is that I am someone who goes that last mile harder than any of the other miles before. That’s what I decide. Because I am the one who writes the narrative.
